Sharp-shooter Babatunde Adepoju, the Mighty Be forward Wanderers Striker, appears set to be on course to break Agly Kanyenda’s top Super League record, though fall some way short of Ganizani Malunga’s 29 goals in one season.
Babatunde’s goal from the spot in Be forward Wanderers’ 3-2 loss to Moyale Barracks on Sunday on the last day of first round puts him on course of to break the TNM Super League record for most goals scored in a single season.
The Nigerian has scored 13 goals in 15 appearances this season and is short of one goal to reach goals scored by 2008 top goal scorer Diverson Mlozi.
The forward has only scored once from the spot. If he maintain first round pace he would notch up a staggering 26 goals level with Aggly Kanyenda’s 2005 record, though still some way short of Ganizani Malunga’s incredible record of 29 top-flight league goals scored in 2000/01 season.
Babatunde is 5goals above second placed Khuda Muyaba, while last year’s golden boot winner, Chiukepo Msowoya has scored six goals .
