One of the social media commentators, Joshua Chisa Mbele says Democratic Progressive Party [DPP] is a bereaved family and they are entitled to cry loud and simmer.
Chisa Mbele was commenting on a number of posts in social media whatsApps and Face books describing Mulhako wa Alhomwe festival held at Chonde village in the area of Traditional Authority Mthiramanja in Mulanje district last Sunday, as full of politics.
Former President, DPP leader and Patron of Mulhako wa Alhomwe, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, appearing in public for the first time after he lost office to President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera used the podium advising those who wants his position as President of the DPP to wait saying till the party holds the Convention in 2023, he is still President of the mighty DPP.
Taking his turn, Malawi’s first democratically elected President and freedom fighter for democracy, Dr. Bakili Muluzi, said he will not let the hard-won democracy in Malawi die a natural death advising those who wants to leave the DPP, to leave.
Dr. Muluzi also took the podium to advise Professor Mutharika to put his house in order by taking the leadership of the DPP so that there is sanity in the party saying there is no way a divided house can win elections.
Writing on his official Face book widely read by many people in Malawi, Joshua Chisa Mbele says he has seen so many posts questioning the sanity of the Mulhko wa Alhomwe Feast alleging that politics took a centre stage ‘’amayankhula ndale’’….saying he is surprised that they are surprised reminding all Malawians that this is the first gathering of the DPP stronghold since they were ousted from government on 23rd June, 2020.
Chisa Mbele has since asked a question why not getting surprised with the Tonse Alliance government which promised people lies and you are surprised with a mourner?….’’Mukusiya kudabwa kuti boma lanu la Tonse ndi labodza lankunkhuniza koma mukudabwa za munthu wofeledwa?
He has since advised the Tonse Alliance government that the numbers seen at Mulhako wa Alhomwe on Sunday, is a warning that the Tonse will not have an easier ride in the 2025 elections.
…’’50 percent plus is a chasm, I foresee President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera losing, I foresee new Alliances forming to oust him, don’t say I never said it, MCP needs sober realists else back to opposition,’’…reads Chisa Mbele writing on the wall.
