After releasing her first single track since she mesmerized the country with her previous album ‘Muloleranji’ that was launched last year, Malawi’s gospel artist is back again with a latest track titled ‘Gome’.
In an interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana) on Tuesday, Eliza Mponya said Gome is a song that has been her prayer inspired by Psalms 23 as the Lord promised us to prepare a table in the presence of our enemies.
The Youthful Artist said she cried out to the Lord for the banquet in the presence of her enemies based on what she was experiencing.
“The track is in both audio and video and will be released in November, although the date is not yet to be set but after the date is proposed I will call for press conference to announce it,” Mponya said.
Pemax Entertainment Director, Ian Simbota observed that from the time Mponya came with a new composition of Gome the whole production crew was elated and blessed, to an extent that they planned for the audio recording as well as the video shooting.
“We were strict on quality which we achieved and then we engaged VJ Ken, a rising star in Cinematography after watching his work, we thought of giving him such a task thereafter we came up with a wonderful track. I am sure people will love the production in the making,” he said.
“We work tactically even in her stage work. So, the coming out of this song brings out the new unexpected that we have been working underground from the time she has been out of the spotlight,” Simbota said, adding that “I am sure people will appreciate and get blessed as the song will bring new hope and expectations of God’s touch in people’s spiritual life.”
Pemax Entertainment Programmes Manager, Peter Chasanga said there were no shortcuts in the production of the song, noting that the audio was produced by her brother Andy Mponya at Mponya Records in Machinjiri while the video was shot by VJ Ken.
“VJ Ken whose real name is Kenneth Makina is one of the best hottest video directors that is currently doing super extraordinary nice videos in Malawi,” he said.
The Hotshots Video Production, Videographer VJ Ken added that, “The video production has gone on well; the video was shot in two places at Mlombwa CCAP in Blantyre and in Zomba,”
He said that, “I liked her commitment and how she performed during the production phase, she gave it all and this is not a flattery.”
“She followed whatever I told her to do, like the costume in the video I just told her the design and to my surprise and satisfaction she did exactly what I told her,”
VJ Ken said.
