TNM Super League leaders Mighty Be forward Wanderers suffered a home defeat on the final day of the first round and failed to increase the gap between them and second placed Kamuzu Barracks.
Moyale Barracks looked strong in today’s game despite their 4-1 loss in the hands of Mtopwa FC yesterday but it was Wanderers who took a first half lead.
Babatunde Adepoju scored his thirteenth goal of the season from the spot following a foul on him by Black Alisen.
Moyale Barracks equalized in the second half through Deus Mkutu but a minute later Francisco Madinga put the home side in front again.
With 20 minutes to go, a double substitution costed the home side as Gastin Simkonda’s goal gave the vistors hope.
Then, lack of concentration in the Nomads defence gave Deus Mkutu to rob the ball and forced a shot past William Thole.
The result means the gap between Wanderers and Kamuzu Barracks has been reduced to three points following KB’s goalless draw against Mzuni FC.
In another game, Masters Security FC Hopes of finishing first round on position thirteen were dented as they were beaten 3-0 by Civil Sporting Club at Civo Stadium.
Masters had to play 60minutes with 10-men after Chikondi Maloya was given red for arguing with the referees decision.
Fretcher Bandawe put the home side through a penalty in the first half, he doubled Civil’s lead in the second before Raphael Phiri made it 3-0.
