The Ministry of Education has announced that Form 4 students from all public and private secondary schools should report to their respective schools on the 28 December, 2020 so that they prepare for the re–sitting of the Malawi School Certificate of Educations Examination
The Ministry has directed that no school shall demand fees from the students as examinations will be administered within one month from the day the students report at school saying it is aware that at the time of cancellation of examinations, Form 4 students had not fully utilized their fees for term 3 which is normally paid in full.
It further says no student will be required to pay Examination Fees and no school shall demand fees for practical examinations from students as all these costs will be shouldered by Government.
This is contained in a statement released by the Ministry dated 22 November, 2020, signed by the Secretary for Education, Chikondano Mussa, on guidelines for secondary schools in preparation for the re–sitting of 2020 Malawi School Certificate of Educations Examinations.
In the statement, the Ministry says newly selected Form 1 students should report for schools on 01 February 2021, after the Form 4 students finish their examinations, saying this is to give space and avoid congesting the schools in order to keep up Covid-19 preventative measures.
The statement says the Ministry is calling upon all public and private schools to strictly adhere and be in full compliance with these guidelines.
…”The Ministry further wishes to remind all schools to keep adhering to the Covid-19 preventative measures at all times as stipulated in the school reopening guidelines,’’… reads part of the statement.
