Mighty Beforward Wanderers have announced the signing of Francis Mkonda in a club-record transfer from Masters Security FC.
Mkonda ,22, has signed a three-year contract after Mighty Wanderers agreed to pay the Area 36 outfit K5million.
That figure beats the estimated K3million that Wanderers payed Azam Tigers for Yamikani Chester in 2016 in their previous club-record-deal.
Mkonda joined Masters Security from Civo Sporting Club a year ago for a nominal fee, and went on to win Carlsberg Cup while his reputation grew-persuading Mighty Wanderers to cash out mega money to bring him to Lari Luban.
Mkonda arrived in Blantyre last week for Malawi under23 camping and Wanderers took advantage of his presence in the commercial capital to finalize the deal.
Mkonda is Mighty Wanderers third signing of the current transfer window, following Peter Katsonga and Babatunde Adeboye, but the size of the fee payed this the biggest statement for the blue-orange side.
