Ministry of Health says Government has put in place several health sector reforms aimed at sustaining and improving access and quality of health services in Malawi.
Minister Responsible for Health ,Honourable Atupele Muluzi,MP made the remarks on Tuesday in Lilongwe at the National Quality Management policy launch on a theme titled ”Key to achieving health related sustainable development goals”.
Speaking at the launch ,Honourable Atupele Muluzi said the government has invested alot in improving coverage and access of health care in the country.
“This Policy aims at enforcing a holistic approach to improve quality of health care in a systematic and coordinated manner,” said Muluzi.
“My Ministry has established Quality Management Directorate (QMD) to monitor quality at all levels of care across the health sector in order to fast track the achievement of universal health coverage by 2030,”Muluzi said.
Director of Quality Management Directorate (QMD) in the Ministry of Health,Dr Andrew Likaka said the policy will improve the quality of health delivery as well as implementation of initiatives in the health service .
Quality Management Directorate (QMD) was established by Ministry of Health in 2016 to provide strategic leadership and coordination of quality initiatives across the entire health system in Malawi.
