With just a single game to wind up TNM Super League first round, Kamuzu Barracks Football Club have been ruled out of the top finish after being held to a 1-1 draw against Masters Security Football Club on Wednesday at Civo Stadium.
Ndaona Daisi equalized from a rebound in the 55th minute to cancel out an early strike from Allion Tchefu and secure a draw thàt guaranteed Mighty Be forward Wanderers top finish. The result effectively ended KB’s Hopes of finishing as leaders.
Kamuzu Barracks is four points behind leaders Be forward Wanderers, which also has a superior goal difference. Kamuzu Barracks is now two points ahead of Nyasa Big Bullets on sixth ahead of the final round of games this coming weekend.
Nyasa Big Bullets can overtake KB if they win and Kamuzu Barracks drop points.
Assistant Coach for Kamuzu Barracks, Ted Kalinda says their focus now is to win against Mzuni and finish on second position.
“We started very slow in the first half no wonder we conceded a goal but after we talked to our boys they came back into the game and equalized.
” we are now out of contention to finish at the summit in this hàlf but we will make sure that against Mzuni we collect maximum points to maintain our current position ” said Kalinda.
His counterpart Abasi Makawa was not convinced with a draw “we played well from the start up to the end, we deserved maximum points but my boys squandered alot of chances. It’s my duty to deal with the problems before our last game
