MISSION IMPOSSIBLE!!: AmaZulu Boot Bullets Out of CAF Champions League

AmaZulu overturns a first-leg deficit as they knocked out Nyasa Big Bullets to progress into the next round of CAF champions League.

The TNM Super League giants were 1-0 up on aggregate before the match following last week’s away victory away over Amazulu.

The People’s Team put their worst performance in the opening minutes of the match allowing the visitors to take full control of the match no wonder they took a 2-0 lead inside first eleven minutes.

Bonginkosi Ntuli scored the opener after four minutes from the spot following a Handball by Sankhani Mkandawire’s inside the box before he completed his brace seven minutes later to give his side 2-0 advantage.

Usuthu continued to dominate the match forcing Bullets’ Kalisto Pasuwa to change his tactics by bringing in Misheck Seleman and Chiukepo Msowoya for MacFarlane Mgwira and Chimango Kaira but it didn’t pay any dividend until half time.

Henry Kabichi revived Nyasa Big Bullets faithfuls hopes of equalising and progressing when his 49th minutes fabulous freekick from the edge of the box went straight into the top corner of the net to make it 2-1.

Amazulu increased the lead six minutes later through Mthembu who finished from the close range to put the match beyond Bullets’reach.

Youngster Alick Lungu who replaced Nickson Nyasulu had his shot bounced off the upright in the 65th minute and he continued to shine on the left flank with pace and beautiful crosses the forwards failed to utilize all the chances he created.

In the dying minutes Amazulu goalie Veli Mothwa made two fine saves to deny Chimwemwe Idana from scoring

The defeat for Nyasa Big Bullets means they are out of the continental showpiece while Amazulu will face TP Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo in the second round of the competition.
