Minister of Civic Education and National Unity, Hon. Timothy Pagonachi Simbega Mtambo, has come out in the open dismissing pictures of two fuel tankers circulating on social media on allegations that he purchased them and leased to a businessman, Gaffar Transporters.
Media reports in circulation are alleging that Mtambo has accumulated huge wealth within the six months period after he was appointed Minister to serve in the Tonse Alliance Government led by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his Vice, Dr. Saulosi Chilima.
Mtambo’s alleged trucks have coincided with the implication of Energy Minister and two state House officials, reported to the Anti–Corruption Bureau [ACB] in fuel supply tender.
Writing on his official Facebook page, Mtambo dismissed the pictures of the two Tankers in circulation as not his, saying he does not own them and is seeing them for the first time.
…”I know nothing, I have never seen these tankers except today, I am seeing the pictures and I have never made any transaction related to purchase or lease of Tankers,’’….reads part of Mtambo’s writing on the wall.
But, Muvi wa Chilungamo says the Tonse Alliance Government is divided into two groups A and B, one which favours corruption and the other of Mtambo, not for corruption alleging that there are people within the Tonse Government that are working tirelessly to sow seeds of enemity between Dr. Chakwera and Mtambo so that he is fired for them to enjoy their corrupt practices.
Its Commander in Chief, Bantu Saunders Jumah, claims that the individuals in Tonse Alliance know better that Mtambo cannot accept anything that tainted with corruption before his eyes so they want him to be out of the cabinet as he is a threat to them, having fought against corruption before being made minister.
Jumah allegedly says he is aware that there is a smear campaign going on within the Tonse Government, a media team which is being sponsored by some politicians, has been put in place to report negatively, tarnishing the image of Mtambo so that he be axed from the Alliance.
…”We know you, stop whatever you are doing, we are tracking you, this is a poisonous bail to tarnish the image of Mtambo so that the President fire him from the cabinet,’’…said Jumah.
He is advising individuals and the alleged politicians who want to get favours from the president that Muvi wa Chilungamo will expose them and their evil doings saying Mtambo is not a politician but a freedom fighter.
