Mutharika urges Malawians to mask up against Covid-19

Former President Professor Peter Mutharika, has urged Malawians to always mask up, avoid crowded places, sanitize and wash hands regularly so as to prevent the spread of the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic which is devastating countries around the globe, including Malawi.

Prof. Mutharika has advised Malawians to take care of each other and support each other during this pandemic, expressing hope that God will surely take Malawians through it so that together they can fight the pandemic.

Writing on his Facebook page, Mutharika says he has been following the updates from Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19, Covid-19 is real, and the authorities are confirming that Malawi now has the new strain of the virus which is more infectious and devastating.

Meanwhile, Muvi wa Chilungamo has alleged that it is receiving pressure from former DPP Ministers to apologize to all Malawians for saying that there is no Covid -19 in Malawi alongside Dr. Saulosi Chilima and former president, Madam Dr. Joyce Banda during the run up to the Fresh Presidential Elections [FPE].

Muvi wa Chilungamo said Covid-19 is coming in phases differently from that of March 2020, this is the second wave of Coronavirus pandemic as per Americans, Chinese and Europeans projected that there will be littering bodies of dead people in the streets of Africa and there will be the third wave, yet to come after, if their projections will not fully achieved.

Its Commander in Chief, Bantu Saunders Jumah says he sees no reason to apologize because the DPP was working hard to cling to power hiding in the first wave of Corona virus which is different from this second wave which is more infectious.

Jumah is asking the DPP led government that it had been receiving Billions of money from donor partners to help it prepare for the construction of hospitals, procuring hospital beds, building isolation centres, where has the money go for the people in isolation centres to be placed to avoid congestion in hospitals?

He claimed that all the monies were blown away through allowances of K450,000 for attending a meeting, saying the development has put Malawi in a disadvantaged position of unpreparedness while it is registering high numbers of confirmed cases daily.

…”What has the Tonse government done to intensify the left over plans by the DPP from June–December 2020, is government prepared for this second wave of corona virus or they are continuing eating the money just the same as the DPP?…..questioned Jumah.

Jumah is wishing Ministers and MPs that have tested positive for Covid-19 and are in self-isolation well, with an advice that their life is theirs, Government will not give people life, encouraging Malawians to take a steam of hot water every day.
