The Malawi National Team head coach Meke Mwase revealed his plans for the Flames next encounter away to Burkina Faso.
Malawi suffered a 1-0 defeat on Wednesday last week when they travelled to Zambia in a friendly match before played out a goalless draw at home on Sunday against Zimbabwe.
After the Zimbabwe game Meke Mwase said he was excited with the boys performance despite his team squandering a lot of golden opportunities.
In a post match interview Mwase was quoted saying he is preparing for a draw when his team travel to Ouagadougou.
“I am impressed with the performance of my boys, they worked according to our plan as you know am not focused much on the result because we are just preparing for Burkina Faso game. We had many chances but we failed to utilize i understand, it happens in the game of football. I am just happy that we have managed to hold them in the entire game.
“As you know the boy have spent six months without playing any competitive game may be that’s another factor for their misfiring in front of goal. Am happy that now we are able to create chances i think next time they will utilize those chances. As we go back to our drawing board we will rectify our weaknesses”
“The system we used today is the same we used in Zambia that’s why I said they have played well because they were able to defend for the entire 90minutes without conceding, thats what am looking for when we date Burkina Faso at their back yard”
Malawi and Burkina Faso are expected to crash on 12th November in Ouagadougou in the first leg of AFCON Qualifiers and the return fixture will be played on 16th November in Blantyre.
