Mighty Be Forward Wanderers has anounced that four members of its squad have tested positive for Covid-19.
The Nomads full squad underwent Corona Virus testing last week in line with Football Association of Malawi(FAM) regulations as well as Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 guidelines.
According to the report released yesterday the list consists of: Misheck Bottoman, Francis Mlimbika, Foster Namwera and Albert Mpinganjira.
The quartet has been ordered to be on self quarantine for two weeks before they join the rest of Wanderers squad.
The statement reads: “As you are aware, Be Forward Wanderers FC had Covid-19 tests as a requirement by the Football Association of Malawi before commencement of training in readiness for 2020 season. The test results were released on Sunday 18 October and so far, 2 of our players plus 2 officials tested positive to COVID-19 but they are not showing any symptoms. These are: Mishek Botomani, Francis Mlimbika, Albert Mpinganjira, Foster Namwera.
“The health of our players and officials will always be our priority and everything is being done to speed up the recovery of the infected personnel and also to protect those not infected. All the infected 4 are being fully supported. We look forward to getting them back to training and playing as soon as medical advice allows. We urge you all to wear masks, practise social distancing and sanitize your hands regularly.”
