One of the richest men in this country, Thomson Mpinganjira has pledged K20.2 packets to Be Forward Wanderers to help ease financial challenges at the Lali Luban outfit.
According to report posted on Be Forward Wanderers official page, Mpinganjira has made a commitment to pay 50 percent salaries for the players and technical panel for the period of four months.
“Wanderers players will be paid December 2020 and January 2021 arrears as well as salaries for February and March 2021,” reads part of the statement
According to reports Nomads players and Officials have not been receiving their salaries since December 2020 after parting ways with Japanese Car Dealers Be Forward Limited.
Following the announcement, Be Forward Wanderers fans flocked to the page to ask the business tycoon to take full responsibility of the club.
A number of replies shows the majority desperate for Executive committee to push for Mpinganjira’s take over.
One supporter said “Lets just change our name to Thom Mpinganjira football club. Please boss take responsibility of the team”
Another one said, “Dr Thom Mpinganjira just take us. We will trim the squad to 20 players only.”
Another fan simply said, “Let it be yours.”
To ensure that the money goes straight to the players, the payment is going to be made directly into the players and officials accounts for easy accountability and transparency.
