Silver Strikers have completed the signing of goalkeeper Charles Thom from Dwangwa Utd, throwing Blessings Kameza’s future at the club into doubt.
Thom will bring immediate competition for the starting spot and most likely Silver Strikers will release one of their three goalkeepers — Blessings Kameza is more likely to give way.
Kameza was criticised in the past seasons for a number of uncharacteristic mistakes and indiscipline issues, as he lost his position as Silver’s second choice goalkeeper to Steven Micheta.
Charles Thom has been regarded as one of the promising talent in the domestic top flight league and is part of the Malawi U23 team preparing for Zambia in Afcon qualifiers.
The keeper is the first signing announced in the current transfer window. However, some reports indicates that the deal for Karonga Utd Striker Sheriff Shamama has also been completed and will be announced soon.
