The South African based Malawian female boxer Ellen Simwaka says she is targeting to win the UK fight which is expected to take place later this year.
Simwaka said this after her fight last Saturday which she overcame Merisa Millar in the third round of 10 rounds non-title bout.
She said the fight was used as part of preparations for the fight which her Manager and UK promoters are organising.
“This is just part of my preparations for the fight which UK promoter is organising and I’m ready to produce good results when I go there” she said
Commenting on her victory, Simwaka said she didn’t plan to knock Merisa out in the third round.
“Am delighted for the win because it’s not easy to win a fight after staying almost two years without a fight.
“This was our second meeting, at first it ended in a draw, I knew her tactics before the fight that’s why I managed a TKO”
“I had no plans for TKO it happened by the grace of God. She started well but after I bombed her with a number of hard punches she gave up and the referee ended it prematurely”
Simwaka is one of best local female boxers. She sealed a deal in South Africa back in 2017 after an impressive performance against another South African boxer which attracted the attention of her current manager who signed her for his boxing companie.
