As the TNM Super League teams have now begun full time training ahead of the 2020/21 football season, one of the Top Flight teams, Mighty Tigers FC has appealed to well-wishers to support the club financially.
Tigers General Secretary, Akuzike Kafwamba, told smashmw.com that his team which does not have sponsorship and is operating with help from club owner Robin Alufandika and colleagues, has been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, putting the future of the club in jeopardy.
Kafwamba further said they have tried to approach several companies and individuals during the outbreak but they have failed to seal any deal.
He added that the team started preparations for the new season yesterday after all players and officials tested negative for Covid-19.
Kafwamba: We are looking for interested parties to partner with us
“I can confirm that our boys returned to the ground yesterday and preparations have started well.
“We are still searching for long or short term sponsors to help us fulfill all fixtures of the season. We tried to approach several companies but we did not manage to complete any deal and we still need your support” he said.
Mighty Tigers parted ways with Azam at the end of the 2019 season after the expiry of their agreement. Now they rely on support from few individuals closer to the team.
