The Human Rights Defendant Coalition (HRDC),is commanding the police officer’s who raped women and girls at Nsundwe to be arrested.
This was said on Saturday during the briefing at Mpingu in Lilongwe.
Mtambo: We are giving them five days to arrest all the policemen involved in the rape case.
Following on the reports that were found that women and girls were raped at Nsundwe ,HRDC chairperson, Timothy Mtambo says Malawi police service (MPS) must not take law in their hand’s.
” we are giving them 5 days to arrest all police officer’s who were sent to do those things,”says Mtambo.
Mtambo also says that,it was wrong that the police officer was killed at Nsundwe and it wasn’t supposed to be like that but police officer’s were also not supposed to Violate women and girls.
According to him, Mtambo says,on 27th December ,they will conduct demonstrations whereby they will give the petition to police headquarters for those police officer’s who raped women and girls to be arrested.
Not only that,but Mtambo also says that,they also want those who killed Buleya Lule to be arrested .
“Attacking one person is attacking the whole Malawi,” says Mtambo.
However,he says that, in January 16, they are going to conduct Anti-Jane Ansah demonstrations as it has been done previously.
“Very soon will be matching in Salina and Mchinji,” says Mtambo.
Adding to that, Mtambo says, chiefs must not be threatened for receiving HRDC members because HRDC doesn’t do politics and politicians should do their work and let them do their own work’s.
The HRDC vice Chairperson, Gift Trapence, says they need a Malawi of justice whereby justice will be seen.
According to Trapence, on the issue of Jane Ansah, he says, it does not concern court.
On the issue of demonstrations, Luke Tembo HRDC member, says, people should conduct peaceful demonstrations with the aim of building the nation.
