Media Hails CRFA

Media fraternity in the country has commended the new Central Region Football Association (CRFA) Committee for making strides in uplifting football in the region.

Speaking in an interview on Friday at Civo Stadium after the draw for top 12 teams in the Chipiku Stores K14.5 million league, Bright ‘Buju’ Kanyama said the media is impressed with how the new committee is running football affairs in the region.

He said: “We are experiencing noticeable difference in the way football in the region is being run. This is a step in the right direction.”

Kanyama said it is pleasing to observe that coaches from different teams are able to grant interviews to the media, something that was abit hard to find in the past.

“There has also been change in assigning referees to officiate games. In the past referees were being assigned to officiate games from the same district which we felt had the potential to compromise games. That is now history,” he said.

He further applauded the new committee under the tutelage of Austin Biton Ajawa that CRFA officials are able to witness games saying in the past most administrators were assigned to super league games.

The sports reporter also commended CRFA for coming up with public relations office( Media Relations) which he said has helped facilitate the flow of information to the public.

“We are greatly appreciating the the role of public relations office which we feel is very crucial in disseminating vital information.

“We would like CRFA to maintain this kind of relationship,” he said.

In his remarks, CRFA chairperson, Austin Ajawa has applauded the crucial role that sports journalists play in promoting the game of football.

He further urged them to keep on marketing CRFA sole sponsor ‘ Chipiku stores’ and it’s products.

The draw saw CRFA grouping 4 teams in three groups as follows:

Kawinga vs. Ekas
Extreme Fc vs Wimbe/ Kasungu Police

Silver Reserve vs St.Gabriel
Airborne Rangers Vs KB Youth

Dedza Dynamos vs Mbabzi Utd
Ascent vs Green Rangers.

Chipiku Stores K14.5 million Central Region league is expected to end by August, 2021 so that a team that may emerge champions should have ample time of preparing for the elite Tnm super league.
